Home/Where to stay/Marcana/4-star hotels
4-star hotels in Marcana
A shortlist of the 4-star stays in Marcana, southern Istria, from villas with private pools to holiday homes in the surrounding villages. It is for couples, families and small groups who want space, a kitchen and a base for the coast and the countryside.
Staying in Marcana
Marcana is a village in southern Istria, about 15 kilometres northeast of Pula, with a long history that includes Roman settlement and medieval churches. The parish church of St. Martin in Marcana and the church of St. Cecilia in Mutvoran are the notable historic sites, while the economy has traditionally rested on agriculture, viticulture and olive growing alongside newer tourism. Cycling and hiking trails run through vineyards and olive groves to coastal viewpoints, the bay of Duga Uvala offers beaches and clear water, and inland villages keep their Istrian rural architecture.
The hotels on this list are all 4-star and sit in the villages around the central one: Dalmatinska in Marcana itself, Segotici, Bratulici, Krnica, Loborika, Veliki Vareski, Radeki Polje and Krvavici. Distances to the centre range from 1.8 to 7.9 kilometres, so a car suits most of them. They are self-catering villas and holiday homes with pools, gardens and kitchens, which makes them a good fit for couples, families and small groups on a short break who want privacy rather than a hotel lobby.
