About Pucisca
The harbour is the focal point of Pučišća, with small boats and fishing vessels moored along the quay. The parish church, dedicated to St. Jerome, stands near the waterfront, and its bell tower is a landmark visible from the sea. The stone facades and simple architecture give the village a quiet, unpretentious character that reflects its working history rather than a resort atmosphere. Visitors come for the calm setting, the clear water for swimming, and the chance to see a community where stone is still part of daily life.
Where to stay in Pucisca
Pučišća Harbour. The area around the harbour and the main quay is the heart of the village, with most restaurants and services within walking distance and easy access to swimming spots.
Along the Bay. Accommodation along the bay, stretching from the harbour towards the outer part of the cove, offers quieter surroundings and views over the water.
Upper Village. The slightly elevated lanes above the waterfront are residential and peaceful, with stone houses and glimpses of the sea between the rooftops.
Getting there and around
Pučišća is on the island of Brač, which is reached by ferry from Split to Supetar. From Supetar, a road crosses the island to Pučišća. There is no airport on Brač, so most travellers arrive via Split, which has an international airport and ferry connections. Dubrovnik is far to the south and not a practical approach for a day trip. Once in Pučišća, the village is compact and best explored on foot; a car is useful for reaching other parts of Brač, but within Pučišća everything is within walking distance.
When to go
The summer months, from June to September, are warm and dry, with sea temperatures suitable for swimming. July and August are the busiest, when the village attracts visitors and the harbour fills with boats. May, June, September and October offer milder weather and fewer crowds. Winter is quiet, and some tourist facilities may be closed. Rainfall is more likely in late autumn and winter.
