Getting there and around

Once on the island, local buses connect Rab town with Lopar and other settlements. Taxis and rental cars are available, but the old town of Rab is car-free, so walking is the best way to explore it.

The best time to visit Rab is from May to September, when the weather is warm and the sea is suitable for swimming. July and August are the busiest months, with many cultural events, including the Rab Medieval Festival and the Rab Fiera. Spring and autumn offer milder temperatures and fewer crowds, ideal for hiking and cycling. Winter is quiet, with many tourist facilities closed, but the island's landscapes and historic sites remain accessible.
