5-star hotels in Babin Kuk
A shortlist of the 5-star hotels and apartments listed in and around Babin Kuk, the pine-covered headland at the tip of the Lapad peninsula. It is for travellers weighing a full-service resort base against a self-contained apartment, with the guest score shown where one exists.
Staying in Babin Kuk
Babin Kuk is the forested headland at the tip of the Lapad peninsula, where the 1970s Yugoslav-era resort complexes were built. Half a dozen four-star hotels wrap around a pine-covered point with three small pebble beaches — Copacabana, Cava and the tiny Coral — and the peninsula's outer edge carries a 5km coastal walking path. Sunsets from the west side, over Daksa island and Koločep, are the best in Dubrovnik proper.
The addresses on this list sit along Ulica Kardinala Stepinca and Ulica Petra Svačića, the streets running through the headland itself, with two more out at Lozica and one on Kliševska Ulica. Most are apartments and villas rather than resort blocks, so this suits couples and families who want space and a kitchen, and short-break visitors who accept that the bus to Pile takes 20 minutes. The peninsula is dead quiet by 10pm and has maybe six independent kitchens, all closing early, so anyone chasing tavernas or a late-night crowd should look at Lapad Bay or the Old Town instead.

Where to stay in Babin Kuk
Ulica Kardinala Stepinca
The street running through the headland where Hotel More, Villa Malo More and the two Perfect apartments stand. Everything here is set back among Aleppo pines, with the beaches at Copacabana, Cava and Coral within the resort area. It is dead quiet by 10pm, and the bus to Pile takes 20 minutes, so this is a beach-first base rather than an evening-in-the-walled-city one.

Ulica Petra Svačića
Villa Boban, Villa Boban Deluxe and Gold Penthouse Apartment all have addresses on this street. The peninsula's outer edge carries the 5km coastal walking path, and the western tip at Sunset Beach gives the sunsets over Daksa island and Koločep. Independent kitchens are few and close early, so plan on eating in or at the hotel.

Lozica
Villa Casa Del Mare and Apartment Laurus five stars sit out at Lozica, away from the main resort cluster. Expect the same pines and quiet — the peninsula has maybe six independent kitchens and its bars close earlier still — with a beach nearby at both properties and a canoe and bike rental at the villa.

Plan your stay
Getting there and around
The bus takes 20 minutes to Pile, which puts the walled city within reach for a day or two but is tiring if you want to be there every evening. Babin Kuk is better used as a beach-first, walls-once base. On foot, the peninsula's outer edge is a 5km coastal walking path that most guests never quite complete; a shorter sunset circuit of 3 km starts at Copacabana beach, passes Cava and Coral coves, rounds the western tip at Sunset Beach and cuts back inland through the pine forest via the small chapel of Sveti Križ, ending at the Iva Dulčića bus stop for line 6 back to Pile.
When to go
Sunsets from the west side of the headland, over Daksa island and Koločep, are described as the best in Dubrovnik proper, so an evening on the coastal path is worth planning around. The path on the sunset circuit is shaded most of the way, with a few uneven pebble stretches near the tip. The peninsula is dead quiet by 10pm and its kitchens close early, which shapes how late you can plan a day.
Things to do near Babin Kuk
Questions, answered
Are these hotels in Babin Kuk itself?
Their addresses put them on the headland and just beyond it: Ulica Kardinala Stepinca, Ulica Petra Svačića, Lozica and Kliševska Ulica. Babin Kuk is the forested tip of the Lapad peninsula, with Copacabana, Cava and Coral beaches in the resort area.
How far is the Old Town?
The bus takes 20 minutes to Pile, so the walled city is a day trip rather than an evening stroll. It is fine for a day or two but tiring if you want to be in the walled city every evening.
Which hotel has the best guest score?
Hotel More, at 4.6 out of 5 from 1771 reviews. It is the only property on this list with a guest rating and review count in the data; the others are listed as 5-star without a score.
Can we eat out near the hotels?
Choice is thin. The peninsula has maybe six independent kitchens, among them Konoba Dubrava behind the Valamar tennis courts, a couple of pizzerias near Iva Dulčića, and the beach snack bars at Copacabana and Cava. They close early, and the bars close earlier still.
Is Babin Kuk good for families?
Families do well here: kids' clubs, shallow entry beaches and a supervised pool for under-fives at most of the big hotels. Several apartments on this list add family rooms, cots and dishwashers.
Do the properties have a beach nearby?
Hotel More, Villa Malo More, Villa Boban, Villa Casa Del Mare and Apartment Laurus five stars all list a beach nearby. The three small pebble beaches are Copacabana, Cava and the tiny Coral.
How long should we stay?
Five to seven nights suits Babin Kuk better than a two-night stopover, since the bus ride into the walled city eats into short visits. Couples wanting a resort holiday with Dubrovnik as a day trip fit here too.
What is there to do in the evening?
The peninsula is dead quiet by 10pm. The sunset circuit of 3 km runs from Copacabana past Cava and Coral to Sunset Beach at the western tip, then back through the pines via the chapel of Sveti Križ.
