When to go

Go from May to September, when the weather is warm and sunny and suits swimming, rafting and outdoor activities. July and August are the busiest and hottest months, with temperatures often above 30°C. Spring and early autumn bring milder weather and fewer crowds, which works well for sightseeing and hiking to the fortresses. Winter is cooler and wetter, and some attractions and boat trips run on reduced schedules.
