Vela Luka is reached by ferry from Split, which takes a few hours, and by catamaran from Split and other Dalmatian ports. There are also connections to the neighbouring island of Hvar and to the mainland. The nearest airport is in Dubrovnik, from where you can take a bus or drive to the ferry port at Orebić or Split, but the journey involves a ferry crossing. Once in Vela Luka, the town is compact and walkable; local buses connect to Korčula town and other villages on the island. Taxis and rental cars are available for exploring further afield.
