About Slano
Slano is a small coastal settlement on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia, set in a bay along the Dubrovačko primorje about 34 kilometres northwest of Dubrovnik. The main seafront has beaches, restaurants and a marina, while the hillside above the coastal road offers views over the bay and the Elaphiti Islands. The quieter Banja area lies near the Franciscan monastery of St. Jerome and the ruins of the Sorkočević summer residence. Pebble beaches line the bay. Slano sits on the D8 coastal road between Dubrovnik and Split. Buses run along the coast and stop in Slano, though services are infrequent; a car is useful. May to October is best for warm sea and outdoor activities.
