How many stars is Apartment Petra 14?

Apartment Petra 14 is a 2-star hotel in Dubrovnik.

Where is the best area to stay in Dubrovnik for first-time visitors?

Ploče or Pile — both sit within a 5-minute walk of the Old Town gates but let you avoid the stairs and luggage haul inside the walls. Ploče has the upscale sea-view hotels like the Excelsior and Grand Villa Argentina plus direct access to Banje beach, while Pile is cheaper and closer to the Libertas bus stops for Lapad and Gruž. If it's your first trip and you want to be on Stradun before the cruise crowds arrive at 9am, these two areas make that easy. Old Town itself works too but expect to climb steps with your suitcase.

What's the cheapest month to visit Dubrovnik?

November is the cheapest month with functioning hotels, with Old Town 4-stars from around €90 and many Lapad properties closed. February is similarly cheap outside the Feast of St Blaise weekend on 3 February, when the town fills and rates jump. If you want to actually swim and use ferries to Mljet and the Elaphiti, the cheapest usable month is late April or the first half of May, roughly 40% below August prices. Avoid the last week of October if Croatia is playing a home football fixture, which sometimes distorts weekend availability.

How many nights do I need in Dubrovnik?

Four nights is the realistic minimum to see the Old Town properly, walk the 1,940 m walls, take a boat to Mljet or the Elaphiti islands, and get a day on Pelješac for Ston oysters and wine. Three nights works if you cut either the islands or the peninsula, and two nights only makes sense as a cruise-style stopover. A week lets you add Korčula Town as an overnight and a proper beach day in Cavtat or Lopud. Anything beyond ten nights is better split with a base change to Lapad, Cavtat or an island.

How do I get from Dubrovnik airport to the Old Town?

The Platanus airport shuttle runs from DBV to Gruž bus station via Pile Gate for €10 one way, timed to arriving flights and taking about 30 minutes. A taxi or pre-booked transfer is a flat €35–45 to any Old Town, Ploče or Lapad hotel, or roughly €25 to Cavtat which is only 7 km from the airport. Uber and Bolt both operate in Dubrovnik and usually undercut street taxis. If your hotel is inside the walls, ask the driver to drop at Pile or Ploče gate — cars can't enter.

Do I need a car in Dubrovnik?

No, not if you're staying in the Old Town, Pile, Ploče, Lapad, Babin Kuk or Gruž — everything connects by the Libertas 1A, 1B, 3, 6 and 8 buses at €1.73 per ride. A car actively hurts you inside the walled town where parking is €5–7 per hour and no vehicles enter. Hire one only for day trips to Ston, Pelješac wineries, Slano, Trsteno arboretum or across the new Pelješac Bridge. For islands like Mljet, Lopud, Šipan and Korčula you'll use Jadrolinija or Kapetan Luka ferries from Gruž port instead.

About Korčula Town

Korčula Town is a mini walled town on its own small oval peninsula in the channel between Korčula island and the Pelješac mainland. Its old core has three parallel streets, one cathedral and a Venetian tower on each corner, with limestone and red roofs like a smaller, quieter Dubrovnik. Marco Polo’s supposed birthplace is here, and the house-museum is real. The peninsula is barely 300 metres across, so the walls, cathedral square and harbour promenade are a ten-minute walk end to end, and everyone passes Trg Svetog Marka. The wine region produces Pošip and Grk. Town beaches are rock ledges, but a short boat or bus reaches swimming coves. By 9pm day-trippers have left, and harbour restaurants fill with locals over grilled fish and house Pošip.
