About Cavtat
Cavtat is a small coastal town in southern Croatia on the Adriatic Sea, about 20 kilometres southeast of Dubrovnik. It sits on a peninsula between two harbours, with a sheltered bay and a palm-lined waterfront of cafes and restaurants. The historic Old Town has stone buildings, narrow streets, a main promenade, shops and the Racic Mausoleum. Quieter areas include Obod and Rat, while Tiha Bay has calm waters and a pebble beach. The town is small and walkable, with local buses and taxis connecting it to nearby villages and Dubrovnik. Visitors can arrive by car or taxi from Dubrovnik Airport in around 10 minutes, by bus from Dubrovnik in about 30 minutes, or by boat or catamaran along the coast. Summer brings warm, sunny weather and the Cavtat Summer Festival.
